Volusia County Schools hosted an event at the Jackie Robinson Ballpark to celebrate the 70 nominees for Teacher of the Year. The evening recognized the hard work of these educators who are dedicated to their students. The event was made possible through the support of the FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools and AdventHealth. Jostens provided commemorative signet rings for the winning teachers.

The announcement for the VCS Teacher of the Year will take place in January. Key attendees included Dr. Carmen Balgobin, Superintendent of Volusia County Schools, and several school board members: Jamie M. Haynes (District 1), Jessie Thompson (District 3), Anita Burnette (District 2), and Ruben Colón (District 5).
