**Volusia County Issues Double Red Flag Warning Due to Hurricane Milton**
Volusia County has announced the flying of a double red flag at the beach on Thursday, October 10, and Friday, October 11. This warning is in response to hazardous ocean conditions caused by Hurricane Milton, which include extreme marine hazards, rip currents, high tides, and large waves.
As a result of these dangers, officials have clarified that there will be no staffed lifeguard towers at the beach during this period. Residents and visitors are strongly advised to stay out of the ocean until conditions improve.
Additionally, the Volusia County Emergency Operations Center has been activated and is fully staffed to coordinate responses to the situation. For real-time updates regarding beach access, lifeguard tower locations, and weather conditions, the Volusia Beaches app is recommended.
Residents are also encouraged to download the Volusia Emergency Management app, follow Volusia County on social media, subscribe to the county newsletter, and visit the official website at www.volusia.org for the latest information.
