Volusia County Schools has announced important updates following Hurricane Milton. Monday, October 14, will be a Teacher Duty Day and a Student Holiday; therefore, there will be no school for students on that day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 15.

District crews are currently assessing all school and district sites, as well as bus stops and routes, to ensure a safe return for students next week. The district expressed gratitude towards employees who assisted in running shelters and providing transportation and meals for evacuees during the hurricane.

Additionally, there will be no Drivers Education classes this Saturday, October 12, at Pine Ridge High, Deltona High, New Smyrna Beach High, and Seabreeze High.
