Daytona Beach Shares Halloween Safety Tips for Families

Staff Report / Daytonalocal.org

As Halloween approaches, the City of Daytona Beach has released safety tips for trick-or-treating.

Parents are advised to choose costumes that are visible at night and consider adding glow-in-the-dark bracelets for added safety. It's important for parents to monitor their children at all times, especially for those under the age of 13 who should be supervised.

Costumes should also be checked to ensure that children can see clearly. Masks must have large enough eye holes to allow for good visibility.

Children are encouraged to look left, right, and left again before crossing streets and to continue looking while crossing. Additionally, parents should inspect all candy before their children eat it, paying close attention to any potential food allergies.

These tips are intended to ensure a safe and enjoyable Halloween experience for families in the area.
