Volusia County Schools Launches Dual Language Program

Staff Report / Daytonalocal.org

Volusia County Schools has announced the introduction of its first-ever Dual Language Program at George Marks Elementary School. This program allows students to learn in both English and Spanish.

This initiative is part of a broader expansion by Volusia County Schools, which has launched a total of six dual language programs and three French immersion programs in the past two and a half years.

The school district expressed gratitude to several individuals and organizations for their support in this effort, including Dr. Carmen Balgobin, Superintendent of Volusia County Schools, Ruben Colón and Jessie Thompson, School Board Members, Chris Cloudman, Mayor of DeLand, and Stetson University, among others.
