Clearwater Aquarium Celebrates Rescued Sea Turtle Boba

Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater, Florida, is celebrating the rescue anniversary of its resident sea turtle, Boba. Boba, named after the Star Wars character Boba Fett, is a permanent resident at the aquarium. The sea turtle first arrived at the facility in 2021 after being rescued on May 4, 2018 by stranding network partners in Volusia County. Testing showed that an earlier injury had affected Boba's spine, resulting in a permanent buoyancy disorder.

At the aquarium, Boba receives daily care and is known to interact with environmental enrichment devices placed in Turtle Bayou, his home at the facility. These devices help stimulate natural behaviors and provide a changing environment for him and other resident animals.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium invites visitors to see Boba while celebrating his rescue anniversary.
